Classes begin with a warm up, setting our minds and bodies up to fully connect to our body engagement and sensual movement, while also setting ourselves up to prevent injury.
After the warm up, we will dive into drills and exercises that help develop the important fundamental skills and techniques that bring a higher quality of body movement to dance. These drills and exercises will be a combination of working with and without a partner. Don't worry, you do not need to bring a partner with you for any classes.
The Body of Engagement class will focus on the framework, posture, all elements of connection, proper muscle engagement, and weight shifting as we move our bodies through dance.
The Sensual Movement class will focus on breaking down all the little details that allow the full range of movement that creates depth and dimension in dancing, and the breaking down of fundamental moves and isolations that are key in sensual bachata.
While they can be taken separately, they are designed to go hand in hand. Together they give the ultimate opportunity to develop your technique and style whether you are leading, following, or enjoying dancing by yourself. While these classes are the baseline for sensual bachata, they apply across the board to all forms and styles of dance.
